People with reduced mobility

PHI spaces are partially accessible to people with reduced mobility:

All areas at 407 Saint-Pierre Street are accessible to people with reduced mobility. We can install an access ramp at the back of the building, located in the Evans Court alleyway. Please contact us before your visit at 514 225-0525 or [email protected] so that we can accommodate you. There's an elevator to every floor.

Parking

PHI does not have a parking lot reserved for visitors. However, paid parking is available nearby. We also suggest you consult the parking map of Old Montreal.

Bathroom facilities

We have wheelchair-accessible toilets at 407 Saint-Pierre Street and 451 Saint-Jean Street. Changing tables are also available in these areas.

Please note that there is no accessible bathroom in the building at 465 Saint-Jean Street.

All of our buildings offer gender-neutral bathrooms.

Blind and visually impaired visitors

Our exhibition brochures are available in large print and Braille. Please ask at reception, and the Visitor Experience team will be happy to provide these documents on request.

Assistance, therapy and emotional support dogs

Assistance, therapy and emotional support dogs are welcome in our PHI areas.

Visitors are responsible for their animal’s behaviour. PHI reserves the right to ask you to leave if the guidelines regarding the spaces are not followed.

Seating

Portable stools are available on request. Please enquire at reception and the visitor experience team will be happy to help.

Deaf and hard-of-hearing

We are currently developing a pilot project for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, and the PHI team will be undertaking basic courses in American Sign Language (ASL), with courses in Langue des signes québécoise (LSQ) to follow. We regularly offer guided tours in ASL and LSQ with a deaf guide or sign language interpreter. Stay tuned to our program for more details!
