Sonorium: Daft Punk and their album Random Access Memories

Sonorium: Daft Punk and their album Random Access Memories

The story of a masterpiece of contemporary pop music. (Re)discover the album decrypted by its creators in all its immersive glory in our Habitat Sonore listening room, in relaxing conditions and ambiance for an exceptional listening experience.

For over 10 years, Daft Punk has placed the final piece in its discographic venture with Random Access Memories.

With 5 Grammy Awards and instant triumph, a worldwide hit (Get Lucky), incredibly precise production, and prestigious collaborations (Pharrell Williams, Julian Casablancas, Giorgio Moroder, etc.), this album has left a lasting impression and established the duo as a major figure in contemporary pop.

For the first time since their separation in 2021, Daft Punk themselves, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, tell the story of this album to Rebecca Manzoni.

A creation by Sonorium, in partnership with the PHI Centre and with the support of France inter.

EPHEMERAL PROGRAM:
خُلق/هُجر | Born to Leave by Wake Island and Radwan Ghazi Moumneh

Born to Leave - Wake Island

خُلق/ هُجر is a new ambient album by Wake Island, part of a tryptic adapting and sampling their 2021 album Born to Leave. Written and recorded in collaboration with Radwan Ghazi Moumneh (Jerusalem in My Heart), the album is the soundtrack to a new video game where Wake Island mine the complex relationships they have with their homeland of Lebanon and their host country Canada—their identities torn between two seemingly irreconcilable universes.

This new spatial audio mix aims to add a new dimension to the music and deliver a more in-depth, intimate listening experience. By creatively placing and spatializing elements of the music, the band created new narratives, unraveling new meanings and interpretations. Mixing in spatial audio also allowed them to highlight and expose the interplay between the three musicians, giving the listener the feeling of being present with them as they improvise and react to each other in the three-dimensional space.

EPHEMERAL PROGRAM:
MOOD RING
by KALLITECHNIS

Mood Ring by Kallitechnis

“I wanted MOOD RING to be an immersive portal into familiar scenes of love and romance. For the mix, it meant emphasizing the textures in the songs to create a depth that allows you to feel the music as a 3D experience. With eyes closed, I wanted the songs to feel like rooms that listeners could enter, just as if they could step into a time capsule and revisit similar snapshots from their own memories. The spatial mix made this sensation possible through the intentional placement of certain textures in space. I welcome you to MOOD RING and hope you meet a version of yourself in these colours.”
