Reservations are not required, but before visiting the exhibition, you will be asked to register at the entrance, located at 465 Saint-Jean Street, suite 120. When you register, we’ll ask you for a few details so that we can send you a survey about your experience: first and last name, and email address. Please note that it is optional to share this information with us. All personal data is protected and will not be kept after the survey has been sent.

The augmented reality work untitled 2023 (sitcom ghost) lasts 20 minutes. If there is a wait, you can leave us your contact information while you enjoy the other works on view, and we can notify you when we are able to welcome you in at our 451 Saint-Jean Street building.

Guided tours can last between 30 minutes and an hour.

Our Visitor Experience Coordinator team offers guided tours in French and English of the exhibition Rirkrit Tiravanija: JOUEZ/PLAY during our opening hours. Please inquire about availability upon arrival at the PHI Foundation, or by phone at 514 849-3742.

Limit of 10 people per visit. Service available daily, subject to staff availability.

We recommend that you plan about an hour for a complete visit of the exhibition.

There could be a few minutes of waiting time upon your arrival, before coming into the Foundation. Please prepare yourself according to the weather, rain or shine.

Please note that the Foundation will not be able to store your personal belongings. Please bring only what is necessary. Backpacks will not be permitted.

Please keep a safe distance from the artworks and be careful not to touch them, unless otherwise specified. Please note that the PHI Foundation spaces are under camera surveillance.

The immersive installation untitled 2017 (skip the bruising...) consists of the reconstruction of a bar that was part of the film set for Rirkrit Tiravanija’s frame-by-frame recreation of Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s film Ali: Fear Eats the Soul (1974). Tiravanija’s remake is presented within the installation. Some of the film’s scenes contain partial nudity.

Please note that photography is allowed for personal use for certain exhibitions, however, the use of video cameras, flash or tripods is not allowed. Please note that depending on the exhibitions, the photography policy might vary according to the copyright policy and permission of the artist. See our gallery attendants for more information. Outside food and beverages are not allowed in the gallery spaces of the PHI Foundation.

Abuse of any kind towards PHI Foundation staff members will not be tolerated. Anyone exhibiting these behaviours will be asked to stop or to leave.

The PHI Foundation’s programming is developed by its curatorial team and it does not accept unsolicited submissions. Please do not call. Please note that the PHI Foundation does not represent any artist.

The PHI Foundation does not rent its gallery spaces for any external events.

The PHI Foundation is located in the heart of Old Montréal, two blocks away from the PHI Centre building. 

Public transport: After exiting Square-Victoria—OACI or Place-d’Armes (orange line), the PHI Foundation is approximately a 5 minute walk. Consult the STM website to obtain the best itinerary (bus and/or metro).

Bike: Bike on over! The beautiful Canal Lachine bike path is right around the corner from us.

BIXI: Consult the BIXI station map to know, in real time, the number of bikes and docking points available at each station.

Car-pooling & car-sharing services: We suggest Carpoolingnetwork.com, Communauto and car2go.

Parking: The PHI Foundation does not have a parking area for visitors, however, you may find paying parking stations nearby. Here’s a map of parking lots in Old Montréal.
