Inspired by the world of theatre and documentary, Sensei H returns with a show that aims to present rap in a different way, with the charisma she is known for. At its core is the intention to offer an extraordinary experience. La mort du troisième couplet explores eclecticism, journeying from house to trap/rock sounds and pure hip-hop. This is why the stage performance features both electronic and acoustic elements.

About Sensei H

Of French-Algerian nationality and based in Quebec for several years, Sensei H practices French rap with a strong focus on meaningful lyrics, which earned her second place in the 2024 Francouvertes competition. That same year, she was invited to compose the jingle for Télé-Québec's promotional campaign, based on her song Hors du commun.

The rapper is deeply influenced by a specific era of French rap (2006 to 2012), which she discovered through Sniper's album Trait pour trait. This album helped her understand that there are ways to take a stand in society and that anyone can do so, one way or another. For her, this would be through writing.

In 2022, the rapper and her partner, musician and beatmaker Vérone, released the album Trop de chance, marking the beginning of a great journey. They performed it on stage, opening for several artists such as Alaclair Ensemble, Black M, and Souldia, as well as at events like the Francofolies de Montréal, the Festival d’été de Québec, and Le Festif!. With a primary focus on mastering the art of writing, the artist also conducts writing workshops during special occasions, such as Festif à l’école.

A true lover of sounds and poetry since birth, Jack Layne always knew he wanted to express himself through music. Growing up in Petite-Vallée, in a home where songs love to flow in, he has witnessed giant steps and sung countless tides.

At 25, he now thrives in the world of hip-hop. A beatmaker and word enthusiast, he delivers lyrics that are both touching and hard-hitting, with a proudly Québécois voice.

Also known as "Le pas lourd," he recently released a live session featuring four songs from his latest EP, L’art du commun, Vol.2, which came out in 2023. This mini-album closed the L’art du commun chapter (following Vol.1) and set the stage for Blanc Cassé, his first full-length album, set to be released in spring 2025, following his participation in the 14th edition of Cabaret Festif! this March.

Jack Layne pushes the boundaries of rap with a hybrid show that blends genres and influences. Accompanied by La Bande (his musicians), he invites you on a unique musical journey into his home.
