Discover the heart and history of Montréal’s Chinatown
PHI, in collaboration with the JIA Foundation, presents promenades through Montréal’s Chinatown. These promenades explore the neighbourhood’s history and examine the social and political issues that have shaped it over time, evoking the collective memory of its community.
These events are presented in parallel with the exhibition Lap-See Lam: Shadow Play, on view from April 23 to September 14, 2025. This exhibition includes two art installations that draw on Cantonese opera and shadow puppetry to explore the complexities of cultural heritage.
The JIA Foundation fosters Chinatown’s cultural heritage through education, space activation and community-driven approaches to real estate.
