About the Event

For the 2026 edition of Nuit blanche in Montreal, PHI, in collaboration with World Creation Studio, invites audiences to discover a program bringing together visual, sound, and live arts. Through performances, digital works, and interactive experiences, the project explores the potential of video games and online culture as spaces for creation, projection, and experimentation with new realities.

Conceived as a celebration of digital culture's ability to reflect the urgencies of the contemporary world while opening the door to other possibilities, the evening offers an immersive and festive journey. INTERFACES will feature performances specially imagined for the occasion, followed by a series of collaborations between Montreal’s electronic music scene and visual creators, resulting in DJ sets. Alongside this, digital and interactive works will further explore the themes of the evening.

Wandering at the Exit of Deity

Sound by Noah Sherrin

Wandering at the Exit of Deity (2024-2025) immerses viewers in a speculative sci-fi world where humanity has undergone a profound bio-digital transformation. Viewers are invited to witness the intertwined existence of MetaE and BetaE—two beings inhabiting this reality—delving into their mutual devouring, fusion, and dissociation. MetaE exists on the cosmic scale, emerging as liquid-like reflections in spacetime’s vast Dirac Sea while BetaE exists on a microscopic scale, formed from cellular colonies bathed in shimmering nutrient solutions.

The experience takes place within a world of millions of jellyfish-like living bubble units which are sustained by a Deity who has risen from the Earth’s core after observing humanity for hundreds of thousands of years. When a sudden neural glitch occurs within one of the bubbles BetaE’s enhanced reality mask gets disrupted, revealing a reflection of another self from before the post-human era. The viewer is confronted by a once hidden, dissonant reality, asking us to consider how the revelation of hidden truths can impact our imagining of the future.

Traveling Through a Peach Garden

Traveling Through a Peach Garden (2025) is a CG-based interactive work that explores East Asian philosophies of nature while critically engaging with structured systems. Built as a semi-open world using a game engine, it invites players to collect natural and spiritual elements and participate in metaphysical dialogues through virtual avatars.

Rooted in a healing journey shaped by ancient Chinese medicine and spiritual practice, the project reimagines healing not as a cure, but as a reconstruction of perception. Through speculative worldbuilding and references to East Asian metaphysics, the work interrogates modernist orders and normative constructs of the body and self, in dialogue with queer and decolonial perspectives. It situates itself within a lineage of digital art practices that use virtuality to critique systems of control, proposing instead a symbolic landscape where the body, knowledge, and environment are reentangled.
