Konesans (2025) by Sika Valmé

Inspired by the Haitian Creole word meaning “knowledge,” Konesans is a sonic piece that invokes transmission, memory, and regeneration. It proposes an introspective journey mapped through key moments such as ascent, tandem transformation, and descent. Conceived as an auditory elixir, the final movement of the piece guides the listener toward an inner clarity intended to feel revitalizing. Konesans emerged from an artistic residency in Vancouver, where Sika explored 4D Sound - a rare spatial sound technology developed in Amsterdam, and used by a limited network of certified studios worldwide. The work marks a turning point in the artist’s practice, shifting from a stage-based approach toward an immersive narrative sound art.

Through a spiraled and sensory composition, Konesans calls upon the invisible world through textured serenades and universal markers: rhythms, silences, contrasts, onomatopoeia, chants, sighs, distant voices, vibrations, and natural elements. The piece nurtures connection to a form of knowledge that is both ancient and intuitive, rooted primarily in Haitian Creole lived experience, and nourished by broader Creole heritages. This refined and original work emerges from the soundscpace of Sika’s latest EP Erosion Eksperyans, which bridges traditional Haitian rhythms with contemporary ambient, and electronic dynamics.

Konesans is an offering to Haitian and Creole diasporas around the world - a space for reconciliation and self-love as a path forward. Conceived for audiences of all ages, the work also speaks to anyone seeking to disconnect from the tangible in order to listen more deeply, settle into themselves, and discover in new ways.

SALAM (2026) by El Mehdi

Ceremonial, cathartic and defiant, El Mehdi’s music fuses contemporary pop with Maghrebi and Arab influences, blending rich vocals, lush strings, and sensual urgency with an energy that moves between dance-driven intensity and melancholic restraint. A sonic elixir both incandescent and timeless — where the ancestral becomes radically future-facing. Across five tracks in Arabic, English and French — EL KASS HLOU, LIKE THAT, ENCORE, SKIN and the manifesto-like title track SALAM — the project confronts inherited silences and shame, transforming vulnerability into power. The artist opens a space for dialogue and reconciliation, but also for celebration. Presented in a Dolby Atmos immersive listening experience, the project unfolds with expansive, cinematic, and ethereal sonic force within an enveloping spatial field: where pop becomes sanctuary.
