Families are invited to participate in the free of charge creative workshop Melting Messages: Between Matter, Perception, and Disappearance, designed and facilitated by Montréal-based artist Miri Chek.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet artist Miri Chek, who will facilitate the workshop for this special occasion in PHI's Education Room.
Melting Messages: Between Matter, Perception, and Disappearance is a sensory workshop for creative exploration using different coloured bioplastics on transparent bioplastic surfaces. Each participant will create an image or message that is destined to disappear: melting in heat or dissolving in water. Each creative gesture, performed on the artist's mobile kitchen, will be filmed live and projected onto the wall, offering an immersive and lively video feedback. This workshop offers a poetic and playful reflection on image, matter, and their ephemerality in a world saturated with matter and representations.
This workshop is designed and presented in partnership with MOMENTA Creative, in connection with swell of spæc(i)es by Josèfa Ntjam, presented at PHI from September 10, 2025, to January 11, 2026.
