Silent reflections of our temporary presence

The exhibition is a series of photographs created in duo, captured on a medium-format digital medium, and printed on 1.5 m x 1 m paper. Expect to spend between 15 and 30 minutes exploring all the “clusters”.

About the exhibition

Clusters is a series of photographs created in duo, by artists Léa Valérie Létourneau and André Turpin.

These clusters are, above all, places. Spaces shaped by time and "dressed" by the humans who have passed through, worked, created, or played there. Like nests in which successive layers of material and life have been deposited, bearing witness to dramas and troubles, these habitats have triggered a raw, immediate, and precise sensation in the artists. With each of these fictions, Létourneau and Turpin attempt to reproduce this initial sensation.

Through carefully staged mise-en-scène, Turpin and Létourneau privilege the spirit of place, transforming each location into a complex tapestry of human presence. Their work invites us to pause and reflect on the traces we leave behind in our transient passages through life, capturing the delicate balance between memory and materiality in these spectral locations.

This exhibit marks the debut collaboration between Turpin, an accomplished cinematographer and director, and Létourneau, a skilled art director, both hailing from the film industry. Clusters is born from the unique fusion of their ability, bringing a cinematic eye to still photography and creating a powerful visual narrative.
