Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Senior Venue Operations & Market Development Manager will oversee the full management of a designated venue within PHI Studio’s portfolio. This role combines hands-on operational oversight with strategic responsibilities aimed at expanding the venue’s presence through B2B partnerships and business growth initiatives. The incumbent will lead all aspects of venue operations—ensuring safety, efficiency, and an exceptional visitor experience—while actively seeking new market opportunities and developing strategic relationships with cultural, corporate, and entertainment partners to increase visibility and revenue streams.

This position requires a proactive leader with extensive experience in venue operations, stakeholder engagement, and business development within immersive arts or entertainment sectors. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate exceptional team management skills, with a proven ability to build, lead, and motivate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

PHI Studio specializes in the production and development of original content, as well as the marketing and distribution of immersive experiences. We focus on large-scale, high-profile art-entertainment projects, and XR (extended reality) experiences for location-based entertainment (LBE) venues. Main responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all operational aspects of the venue, ensuring safety, cleanliness, functionality, and a high-quality visitor experience;
- Develop and implement operational protocols, maintenance plans, and safety standards specific to the venue, ensuring compliance with all regulations;
- Lead, mentor, and manage venue staff, fostering a culture of service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement;
- Recruit, onboard, and train staff, ensuring they are equipped to deliver excellent customer service and operational standards;
- Take a leadership role in human resources, including conflict resolution, staff development, performance evaluations, and addressing workplace issues promptly and effectively;
- Implement HR policies and practices that promote a positive and inclusive workplace environment, emphasizing conflict prevention and resolution;
- Ensure accurate and confidential maintenance of employee records and HR dossiers;
- Handle employee relations, including mediating conflicts and coaching managers and staff with conflict management techniques to foster a collaborative, respectful, and productive team atmosphere;
- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and ongoing training initiatives to meet operational and strategic goals;
- Establish and nurture strategic B2B relationships with corporate clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to promote the venue’s offerings;
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the local markets, creating partnerships to expand the venue's reach;
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop targeted strategies for attracting B2B clients;
- Drive marketing initiatives that position the venue as a premier location for immersive experiences, corporate events, and partnerships;
- Oversee venue-specific logistics, including event management, resource allocation, and equipment inventory;
- Coordinate with internal teams—including marketing, box office and technical departments—to ensure seamless execution of activities;
- Implement communication, teamwork, and staff engagement strategies to ensure a motivated and cohesive team;
- Perform additional managerial and strategic duties to support the venue's growth and operational excellence.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience;
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline;
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain quickly;
- Proven track record of developing and executing B2B partnerships, with a focus on expanding market reach;
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills;
- Fluency in English, spoken and written;
- Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and digital marketing platforms;
- Ability to leverage technology for operational efficiency and marketing strategies;
- Experience in immersive arts, entertainment, or cultural environments is a strong asset;
- Knowledge of organizational development, HR policies, and legal/regulatory compliance.
