In collaboration with the Executive Producer, the Studio VDO Producer is responsible for the planning and execution of all Studio VDO and team activities. The role is responsible for defining and establishing the various stages of production for each project. The Studio's projects consist of video , performance, and or event shoots, to include visual and sound post production.
About the position
The position manages all financial, technical and artistic responsibility for numerous projects, and makes decisions from the production, post-production through to the delivery of each project. Planning, organizing, supervising and editing are part of the role’s daily tasks as the chosen person will be involved in every step of the process, from conception to final delivery.
This person is the project leader and representative for the Studio and will manage collaborations with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication between each party.
Extremely organized, detailed and solution-oriented, the role coordinates the various projects under their purview to meet established deadlines, budgets and production requirements. This person should possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, and be a gifted communicator and a positive influencer.
Main responsibilities
- Manage projects from pre-production to delivery, with attention to detail and established deadlines.;
- Communicate with all teams and facilitate all collaborations
- Develop budgets and maintain rigorous oversight on spending, ensuring that projects are delivered within budget;
- Manage the permanent Studio team (videographer and creative sound supervisor);
- Identify production and technical issues related to projects, recommending and implementing solutions to mitigate risks;
- Control project-related activities through rigorous monitoring of operations carried out by various resources, sub-contractors and suppliers;
- Ensure project profitability and be responsible for project closure reports;
- Shares insight and learnings while acting as a facilitator to ensure that production approaches are understood and adhered to: helping to elevate the studio's creative outputs;.
- Act as a communication and coordination link between various departments.
- Perform all other related tasks and administrative duties.
Requirements
- Minimum academic requirements: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Training in video production/directing, journalism or any other discipline deemed relevant;
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in video, TV or multimedia production management;
- Good understanding of the financial components of a project: contracts, budgets, production costs, billing, intellectual property, etc;
- Understanding of each phase of production and post-production;
- Entrepreneurship and leadership;
- Demonstrate innovation, agility, creativity and autonomy;
- Ability to make decisions, delegate, and negotiate;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Ability to organize schedules and manage priorities and projects on time;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
