Caesey is a Jamaican-Canadian filmmaker whose work weaves magical realism, folklore, and emotional truth. Raised in the layered cultural landscape of Montréal, she crafts intimate narratives that center Black womanhood, healing, and resistance. Her films explore the spiritual journey from trauma to restoration and selfhood, creating sacred spaces where the Black feminine can exist freely. Deeply rooted in womanism and inspired by futurism, Caesey views storytelling as a radical act of liberation. She is currently developing a short film that explores the liminal space of Black girlhood: a tender, powerful reflection on survival, intuition, and becoming.
